Cinema – Belfast (13th May 2022)

Written and directed by Academy Award® nominee Kenneth Branagh, Belfast is a poignant story of love, laughter and loss in one boy’s childhood amid the music and social tumult of the late 1960s. Buddy’s family lives in a largely Protestant district with a few Catholic families, but one day his community and everything he thought he understood about life is suddenly turned upside down. Buddy’s family gets caught in the mayhem and must decide to stay or leave the only place they have ever called home. Through it all, his passionate parents (Caitríona Balfe and Jamie Dornan) and quick-witted grandparents (Academy Award® winner Judi Dench and Ciarán Hinds) keep the joy alive through music and the magic of movies in this feel-good story that reminds us that no matter how far you go, you never forget where you came from.

Theatre – Elephant Rock (8th May 2022)

World premiere tour of a new comedy by Kate Bramley with songs and music by Jez Lowe.

The heyday of the great British Seaside Holiday may have gone but the memories remain. So too does the old Palace Theatre, once perched proudly on the pier in sight of the mighty Elephant Rock, and boasting its own fabulous attraction, The Amazing Mechanical Elephant. But the relentless tides have chipped away at the coast, and Elephant Rock and its mechanical counterpart are long gone, as if instinct and longing have lured them off to the land of their ancestors.

Join us as we watch the comic yet heartfelt attempts of the mismatched team who are determined that the Palace doors stay open, as they discover a family history that stretches across a hundred years and five thousand miles from the rocky coast of England to the sweeping grasslands of Sri Lanka.

Starts 6.30pm
